MPI uses a full-spectrum, medically supported model for substance use care. As part of Sutter Health’s Alta Bates Summit Medical Center, it offers coordinated treatment that brings together medical oversight, psychiatric services, and research-informed therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), and relapse prevention counseling. When appropriate, patients can also receive medication-assisted treatment (MAT). In addition, the program includes life skills development, stress management, and family support. By treating both health-related and emotional factors, MPI helps individuals build strategies that support long-term recovery and sustained success.
