About Buckelew Counseling Services

The MAIL center assists adults in Marin County who face complex mental health needs. As a long-term residential option, it is designed to help people increase their independence by providing consistent housing and continued assistance. Many clients are connected through Marin County Behavioral Health & Recovery Services or through Homeless Coordinated Entry, which helps them find affordable housing and follow a reliable route toward recovery and self-sufficiency. MAIL provides support using a whole-person model. Residents work with staff on individualized care plans that include case management, medication oversight, and training in practical life skills. By combining these services, the program strengthens mental health and supports everyday functioning. With caring, nonjudgmental guidance, participants can build confidence and develop greater resilience in managing their well-being and personal goals. Depending on individual needs, residents live in private or shared homes. Each housing option is built for long-term stability and includes access to meals when part of the supported housing tier. In a safe and welcoming environment, many residents experience their first true sense of home as adults. With rent that remains affordable each month, residents can better concentrate on healing and gradually restart their lives.
