About Roots Through Recovery

Roots Through Recovery is dedicated to assisting adolescents aged 12 to 18 who are facing challenges related to substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. They offer three tiers of therapeutic intervention, starting with their partial hospitalization program (PHP), which provides a level of care similar to that of residential treatment while allowing clients to remain at home. Following PHP, the intensive outpatient program (IOP) involves 3 hours of treatment per day, five days a week, offering flexible scheduling in the morning, afternoon, or evening. This program combines group therapy with individual counseling sessions, enabling participants to apply therapeutic principles in their lives while receiving robust recovery support. Lastly, the outpatient program (OP) is designed for those who have progressed further in their recovery journey, offering a less intensive treatment approach with fewer weekly commitments. Additional services include medication-assisted treatment (MAT), physical rehabilitation, and trauma support groups.

At Roots Through Recovery, clients benefit from a spectrum of evidence-based therapeutic approaches. Each individual receives a customized treatment plan developed during the initial intake assessment, ensuring the chosen methods align with their needs. Trauma-focused therapies offered include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), motivational interviewing (MI), somatic experiencing, and creative therapies such as music and art therapy. Both individual and family therapy sessions are integral to their treatment process.

Roots Through Recovery also provides specialized programs tailored to meet the unique needs of various populations. Their executive program focuses on professionals, fostering an understanding of the demands of high-stress careers and supporting pathways to lasting recovery. The first responders program features group and individual therapy that emphasizes restorative activities aimed at increasing resilience while mitigating burnout and compassion fatigue. Additionally, a well-trained, knowledgeable, and gender-diverse staff is committed to serving individuals in the LGBTQ+ community, acknowledging and validating their unique life experiences. The center also has programs specifically designed for veterans, active military personnel, Native Americans, and trauma survivors dealing with PTSD.
