About AMFM Mental Health Treatment

AMFM Mental Health Treatment is a residential mental health provider focused on helping adults with primary mental healthcare. Its women’s location in San Juan Capistrano offers a welcoming, calming setting where clients receive individualized support and around-the-clock attention. AMFM’s philosophy views healing as something that goes beyond traditional sessions and medication. The program combines evidence-based clinical care, genuine therapeutic connections, and thoughtful planning, with chef-prepared, nutritious meals and a warm atmosphere throughout.

To guide care, AMFM begins with in-depth evaluations to better understand each client’s symptoms, background, difficulties, and personal strengths. Based on this information, treatment plans are tailored to fit what clients face and what they can build on. AMFM also supports clients dealing with primary mental health needs as well as co-occurring conditions.

The center delivers 60 hours per week of structured clinical programming, including medication management, multiple individual sessions each week, weekly family therapy, and case management.

AMFM’s evidence-based, compassionate model targets the underlying drivers of mental health challenges, using medication when it’s clinically appropriate. Licensed professionals provide therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and others. In addition, AMFM offers transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). Clients meet weekly with a psychiatric provider for individual care and participate in individual counseling sessions twice per week. Mindfulness tools are integrated across the program to strengthen the effectiveness of evidence-based treatment. The curriculum also includes life skills training and psychoeducation.

Located in peaceful San Juan Capistrano, AMFM’s residential facility is designed to feel quiet and home-like. It includes private and semi-private rooms, comfortable common areas, dedicated therapeutic spaces, and a scenic backyard with a relaxing porch. The center uses a holistic range of therapies, including somatic experiencing, psychodrama, art therapy, yoga, and expressive arts therapy. After residential treatment, AMFM continues with robust aftercare, such as group therapy, ongoing family counseling, professional support during re-entry, and alumni activities, helping clients maintain a steady path of care.
