Waymakers Huntington Beach Youth Shelter assists children and teenagers facing mental health challenges. The center provides a safe place and guidance for young people who are dealing with homelessness, trauma, and other hardships. Its mission is to help them move toward a safer and more stable future, so they can better manage what they are experiencing now.
Waymakers creates a supportive, restorative atmosphere and offers counseling through individual sessions, group therapy, and family-based meetings. This approach helps participants strengthen emotional balance, develop problem-solving abilities, and learn essential life skills. With this ongoing assistance, young people can form healthier routines and coping strategies. The center also runs specialized services, including short-term shelter for adolescents with mental health needs as an alternative to hospitalization, along with a caring setting for youth who have run away or lack stable housing. Family reconnection and improved school progress are key priorities, supported by a broad range of resources focused on overall well-being.
