About Rancho San Antonio

Rancho San Antonio’s Short Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP) is a trauma-informed residential initiative created to assist court-referred male adolescents ages 13 to 18, along with non-dependent minors. The program works with the behaviors and routines that contributed to placing them outside their homes, providing a setting for emotional recovery through consistent support and a structured, caring community.

Using the Attachment, Regulation, and Competency (ARC) trauma-informed framework, the STRTP delivers a full set of services customized to each youth’s needs. Participants may receive specialty mental health care, including individual, family, and group therapy, as well as treatment for substance use disorders when appropriate. Other supports include case management, life skills education, creative arts-based healing activities, recreational and sports programming, school support with tutoring, neurofeedback, and career-focused resources for job readiness. The program also offers mentoring and specialized programming such as the Young Fathers Program. After discharge, youth can continue with community-based aftercare mental health services for up to one year.

Overall, the STRTP prioritizes strengthening self-regulation, rebuilding healthy family relationships, supporting substance use recovery when indicated, and developing practical life skills needed for long-term stability. Through a nurturing environment, Rancho San Antonio seeks to build hope, encourage resilience, and help youth create meaningful opportunities for success in the future.
