Orchard Recovery Center is a private, boutique addiction treatment program with 25 beds, located in the West Coast rainforest on Bowen Island. Since 2002, the center has blended compassion with evidence-based recovery, addressing the brain, body, and spirit through holistic, customized programming. Internationally accredited and supported by an award-winning leadership team, Orchard assists clients through detox and stabilization so they leave feeling emotionally resilient, personally responsible, and motivated for long-term recovery.
Orchard Recovery Center strengthens recovery by bringing together clinical care, trauma-informed therapy, the 12-Step approach, and holistic practices. Clients take part in recovery-focused activities such as one-on-one counselling, group therapy, educational seminars, relapse prevention training, and family programming. The schedule may also include yoga, mindfulness practices, and creative therapies like music and art therapy. In addition, the program supports life skills and psycho-spiritual growth shaped around each person’s goals and beliefs, promoting both everyday development and deeper self-understanding.
Set within a rainforest setting, Orchard offers shared accommodations with fireplaces and queen beds, along with a 2,800-square-foot fitness space, an outdoor pool, and comfortable areas for relaxing indoors or outside. Meals are provided, and clients can take part in guided nature walks. The program also includes planned device time, including Sunday video calls with loved ones. Surrounded by quiet spaces for reflection and connection, clients often feel steady and supported as they do the work of recovery.
Staying involved with Orchard Recovery Center after discharge is a key part of ongoing progress. Recovery coaches and counsellors offer structured weekly and monthly check-ins for a full year following treatment. Support continues through Friends of the Orchard 12-Step meetings, community events such as the annual picnic, and an alumni app. These opportunities for connection, encouragement, and accountability help clients remember they are not facing recovery alone as they build meaningful lives.
