Last Door Recovery Centre provides full addiction treatment for men aged 14 and above, including distinct tracks for teenagers and for adults 19+. The centre supports a broad range of substance-related problems, as well as behavioural addictions such as gambling and video gaming. It also offers help for related mental health challenges, including PTSD, depression, and anxiety. Treatment options comprise medically supervised detox, residential programming, and step-down transitional living. Typically, clients stay for about 3 to 12 months.
The Social Model programme at Last Door focuses on how biological, psychological, and social influences shape recovery. The peer-based approach promotes active involvement in group therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and family counselling. Clients may also receive complementary services such as meditation, acupuncture, guidance on nutrition and fitness, and support to connect with 12-step resources. By building supportive relationships and a sense of community, participants grow their Recovery Capital, meaning the skills and supports that help sustain long-term recovery.
At the start of the programme, clients typically live in shared housing to foster connection and lessen feelings of isolation. Over time, private rooms may be offered. The main campus is designed to feel comfortable and home-like, and the Keystone Retreat on a 50-acre rural property adds additional amenities such as a heated pool, sauna, billiards, a media room, and outdoor gardens. Meals are planned by staff, and airport pickup can be arranged for clients who are travelling in from other areas.
Family support is an important part of Last Door’s approach. The Family Programme includes counselling, educational sessions, and support groups for spouses or partners, parents, and siblings. This comprehensive model helps both clients and their families build the coping tools and support networks needed for lasting recovery.
