Journey Recovery & Wellness Centre is a premium rehabilitation and wellness facility registered with the Department of Health and the Department of Social Development. The center provides private care for people struggling with substance use as well as mental health conditions that may occur alongside addiction, including bipolar disorder, anxiety, depression, burnout, eating disorders, and other compulsive behaviors or psychological concerns. Located in a peaceful garden setting with a swimming pool, Journey Recovery creates a supportive, family-style environment that helps clients feel safe and understood. During treatment, clients can use amenities such as Wi‑Fi, Netflix, live sports, DSTV Premium, and they are allowed to keep their phones, laptops, and other personal devices.

Journey Recovery operates a non-punitive approach focused on healing through compassion and respectful care. The program includes supervised medical detox, individual therapy sessions, group therapy, trauma counselling, inner-child work, and solution-focused therapy, along with Acu-Detox. Couples and family counselling are also offered, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) forms part of the clinical plan. Alongside traditional treatment, clients can benefit from holistic options such as yoga, mindfulness, art therapy, pottery, and self-esteem workshops. The team also provides practical, personalized guidance to help clients manage cravings and respond to thoughts that may lead toward relapse.

With a maximum capacity of 20 clients, Journey Recovery maintains a 4:1 client-to-clinical staff ratio. This structure allows for individualized attention and a strong sense of connection, which the centre views as essential for lasting recovery. After detox and residential care, clients may transition into sober living and attend daily therapy groups plus weekly one-on-one sessions in a substance-free, independent environment. Outpatient participants continue treatment through evening group sessions. For international clients, treatment costs may be more accessible due to South Africa’s Rand exchange rate compared with what they might pay in their home country.

Journey Recovery permits cell phones and laptops to support clients who need to maintain work or study commitments while in treatment. The centre is SANHA approved, and all meals are halal. Additional dietary requirements can be accommodated, including kosher meals, vegetarian and vegan options, and various food allergies. Clients also have access to an outdoor lounge, game room, gym, and dedicated art and pottery studio. Accommodation includes comfortable, spacious bedrooms, while a cozy lounge area supports rest, social connection, and reading from the centre’s self-help library.
