A Teleios Recovery

Sabino Recovery supports clients in moving beyond simple recovery toward meaningful, lasting change. Located in a luxury inpatient setting in the Sonoran Desert, the center offers a highly personalized approach for people dealing with addiction alongside co-occurring mental health challenges. Drawing on current neuroscience, Sabino Recovery blends naturopathic and allopathic medical care to provide a well-rounded treatment experience. Guests also benefit from the calm atmosphere in the Catalina foothills, along with engaging activities designed to strengthen the mind, body, and spirit.
Sabino Recovery uses an evidence-based, trauma-informed treatment framework that is built to address trauma directly. The goal is to lessen symptoms, reduce shame, and foster greater empathy and a stronger sense of safety. Treatment plans are tailored to the individual at the deepest level, with each regimen shaped around the whole person rather than only the diagnosis. After admission, clients complete a thorough assessment so the clinical team understands their personal history and current circumstances. Lab testing and non-invasive evaluations help guide clinical decisions, and day-to-day needs are taken into account when adjusting each daily plan. Modalities are rooted in neuroscience, including research-supported approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and neurofeedback, along with complementary therapies like massage, art therapy, outdoor adventures, and yoga. The multidisciplinary team includes both naturopathic and allopathic clinicians, such as psychiatrists and psychologists. In particular, the professionals involved in neurofeedback and sleep study programs are recognized leaders in their areas. Staff are chosen not only for credentials and expertise, but also for their empathy and compassion.
Because each client’s story is distinct, Sabino Recovery offers 50 individualized one-on-one sessions over 35 days. This structure helps the multidisciplinary team focus on the underlying drivers of a person’s struggles, not just surface symptoms. Group sessions are limited to no more than eight participants, supporting meaningful participation and space to be heard. Toward the end of a program, family members can join a family program. Lasting 3.5 days, it is designed to help families rebuild connection and strengthen communication skills through structured guided activities.
Continuing Care and Aftercare Throughout treatment, clients meet weekly with the Continuing Care Coordinator for interactive, educational sessions focused on the importance of ongoing support. Clients work with the team to develop a sustainable aftercare and self-care plan, including healthy habits and supportive relationships. Sabino Recovery’s aftercare options may include medication management, individual therapy, and partial hospitalization or outpatient programming to lower the likelihood of relapse. The center also provides a free lifelong alumni program, featuring individualized follow-up, weekly structured Zoom group meetings, and alumni reunions.
Set in the peaceful setting of Sabino Canyon in Tucson, Sabino Recovery’s campus-like environment at the base of the Santa Catalina Mountains preserves an intimate feel. Clients can choose private suites or shared rooms, enjoy gourmet meals prepared by an on-site chef, and access a fully equipped gym. The property offers calming experiences such as labyrinth walks, acupuncture, cupping, sauna retreats, and cold-water plunges. Additional amenities include a bookstore, a quiet courtyard, a swimming pool, ropes course, basketball and pickleball courts, and a music recording studio. Phone and laptop use is supervised and provided only during designated time windows.
