About La Frontera Center

La Frontera Center Thornydale Ranch provides continuous, residential treatment for adults dealing with serious mental health challenges, substance use disorders, or both. Designed for people who require close, around-the-clock support, the program creates a secure, structured environment that promotes healing and recovery. Set amid desert scenery and the steady calm of horses, the setting helps residents maintain daily routines, stay active, and find space for reflection as part of their overall progress.

Care plans are tailored to each person and delivered within a therapeutic, encouraging atmosphere. Residents participate in a variety of services, including one-on-one counseling, family and group therapy, and medication management. Treatments are supported by evidence-based approaches, including Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT), which is incorporated into the overall treatment process. The center is staffed by licensed clinicians and peer specialists who work to build confidence, reinforce stability, and help residents develop practical tools for sustained recovery.

To improve long-term outcomes, the center also offers support that extends beyond therapy itself. Residents can receive assistance with housing, employment, and primary healthcare, along with wellness groups and substance use services matched to individual goals. Additional on-site resources, such as pharmacy and lab support, help ensure continuity and ease access to needed care. For residents with limited English proficiency, free interpretation and translation services are available so language does not limit access to support.
