About Hopess
HOPESS, meaning Homes of Personal Enrichment & Sobriety Services, supports adults facing mental health challenges and addiction by focusing on their existing strengths. The center provides residential care for issues such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, and substance use, with round-the-clock supervision in northern Phoenix.
Participants work with licensed staff through individual counseling, group therapy, and trauma-informed treatment aimed at building healthier coping skills and long-term resilience. HOPESS also helps clients connect with the 12-Step program and uses HeartMath to increase awareness of how emotions and intuition affect heart health and overall well-being. Care is delivered with cultural competence, including support for Native Americans, and clients are encouraged to remain active in work-related goals during treatment, including help with job searches.
Residents live in shared rooms in a structured, home-like environment. The facility includes comfortable common areas and shaded outdoor spaces that promote connection and community. HOPESS works to maintain an inclusive atmosphere and actively supports the LGBTQ+ community.

Questions to ask Hopess
- Is my specific plan in network, and do you need prior authorization before admission?
- How long is the typical residential stay, and can family visit?
- Which medications do you prescribe (buprenorphine, methadone, naltrexone), and can I continue a medication I already take?
- Do you treat mental health conditions such as depression or anxiety at the same time?
- Is there a waitlist, and how soon can you do an assessment?
- What happens after the program ends: aftercare, alumni groups or step-down care?
Also confirm the facility is licensed by Arizona (this facility reports accreditation). If you are withdrawing from alcohol or benzodiazepines, ask about medical detox; do not stop suddenly on your own.
